Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao  —  April Updates                                             (April 2016)

As the days keep winding down before one of the most popular, recognized and lucrative boxing events takes place in the sports’ history, Boxeomundial .com continues its ongoing coverage with news involving the event. Here is the latest “MayPac” information available…

Potentially Record Setting Live Gate

The highest grossing boxing event is  held by “The One” fight card from almost 2 years ago which brought in a live gate at the MGM Grand for Floyd Mayweather vs. Canelo  Alvarez of just under $19,000,000.00 with an attendance of 16,746.

The dollar amount for a possibly sold out MGM Grand Garden Arena on May 2nd for “Money” Mayweather vs. “Pacman” Pacquiao is being calculated at just under $75,000,000.00. The staggering number would not only shatter the previous record set by Floyd and Saul but almost quadruple the $19 million dollar figure which was thought to be untouchable.

Las_Vegas_stripClosed Circuit Pricing

If you are planning to come into Las Vegas last minute, do not forget that only MGM Properties are legally allowed to broadcast the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao PPV event on May 2nd for closed circuit viewing.  However, your budget for the closed circuit fee should include $150.00. That is the targeted amount for access to the viewing parties.

The 8 locations to catch the match in Sin City are as follows:

The Aria

The Bellagio

The Excalibur

The Luxor

The Mandalay Bay

The Mirage

The Monte Carlo

The New York, New York

In comparison, the closed circuit price for The One: Floyd Mayweather vs. Canelo Alvarez in September of 2013 was set at $100.00. However, those who did not plan ahead and purchase on time dealt with inflated prices on Stubhub of $150.00 and $200.00 for the closed circuit tickets.

Access To MayPac Weigh-In Will Require Ticket Purchase

Per the MGMGRAND.COM website, fans “must purchase tickets in advance for entry”.  While there is not set price yet the word is it will be in the neighborhood of $25 for lower seating and $50 for concourse seating inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

No official word as to the actual prices or the date which those tickets to enter the weigh-in on Friday, May 1st will be available as this goes to print.

After Party With A Rap Legend

Las Vegas has been known to host countless after parties for many boxing and MMA events, all of them showcasing various celebrities from the world of Hollywood and entertainment. Nonetheless, access to them will pale in comparison to the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao after party to be held by Hip Hop artist and multiple Grammy award winner, Shawn “Jay Z” Carter. The Brooklyn-born emcee is scheduled to host his after fight party inside the Marquee Night Club at TheCosmopolitan Hotel and Casino with VIP tables ticketed at $50,000.00.

This event after the event will be one of the priciest in The Strip’s history but with so a colossal cascade of cash flowing financial free that weekend, it almost seems expected.
